Nominate someone today.
Nominations are now open for this years Volunteer Ireland Awards. This is your chance to recognise a person, duo or group that makes a difference in your local area.
We all know people in our communities that give selflessly of their time to make it a better place. From cradle to grave organisations like mother and baby groups through to local hospices and everything in between. Be that sports, youth, environment, elder care, or campaigning, there are people and groups locally who champion and effect change on our behalf. Let’s recognise them by nominating them for a Volunteer Ireland Award.
What are the National Awards for Volunteering
The Volunteer Ireland Awards are the awards that celebrate volunteers and volunteering. As the national development agency for Volunteering, their awards showcase Ireland’s resilient communities across these eight categories.
Arts Culture & Festivals | Health & Wellbeing |
Campaigning & Activism | Safety & Emergency Services |
Children & Youth | Social Inclusion & Community Support |
Environmental & Animal Care | Sports & Recreation |
Always inclusive the Volunteer Ireland Awards permit three different types of nominations to be submitted.
Individual / Duo | Group – Large or Small | Volunteer Manager |
It’s a simple nomination process that you can access HERE.
After you pick the award type and category and submit some contact details, all you need to do is answer the following 3 questions about the person or group you are nominating. And that’s it.
- Describe how the volunteer or group is dedicated to their volunteer role.
- Describe the impact this volunteer or group has had through their volunteering.
- Describe how the volunteer or group has shown creativity, initiative, or passion in the volunteer role.
After considering the three questions above the nomination process should not take much time to complete. This is your chance to give a few minutes of your time to nominate someone who gives days/weeks or years of theirs. So please, nominate today to have your local volunteers and groups considered for the awards. Nominations close this Sunday October 8th.
If you need a hand with the form the staff at Tipperary Volunteer Centre are more than willing to assist you.
The great thing about these awards is that everyone nominated gets a “Thank You” card from Volunteer Ireland to tell them that someone thought them important enough to be considered for a national volunteer award.
