I would encourage everyone to volunteer, you never know where it may lead!

From Volunteer to Paid Manager

My name is Laura Condon and I am the Paid Manager of the Fethard Horse Country Experience (FHCE) – a state of the art interactive exhibition centre which explores the history of Fethard with a particular focus on the equine. I started out there as a volunteer and after a few months of volunteering, I was offered a part time position for the summer which later became a full time position.

Volunteering, and now working, at the FHCE is brilliant. Last year we had visitors from over 35 different countries to the exhibition including places as far afield as Japan, Canada, Australia and America. It’s a great place to meet people from all walks of life. Every day is different, you really never know who you could meet!

I’ve always loved history so volunteering at the FHCE was perfect for me. We’ve an amazing team of volunteers here. I really can’t speak highly enough of them. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, and they really help make the history come to life for our visitors.

I would encourage everyone to volunteer, you never know where it may lead!
